Recycle used booksOn Saturday, Oct. 29 the town is having its Hazardous Materials Collection Day (HAZMAT) at the Wilton High School Tennis Courts. This year, from 9 - 3, the library is going to piggyback on the day and ask residents to bring their gently used hard- and soft-covered books, DVDs, VHS videos and CDs to the tennis court for recycling. The donated items collected by the library will be used in the Annual Book Sale which takes place in the spring and is a major portion of the fund-raising for the library. The community benefits from this recycling on many levels: hazardous materials are collected, the library receives a huge influx of donated materials that might otherwise continue to sit in basements and attics, and residents only have to make one trip to town to benefit both the environment and the library. For more information, call 762-3950.
