Construction continues

Patrons have weathered the outside storms and the inside construction as the library moves into the next phase of the expansion project. Plastic barriers have been installed where the fiction collection once stood, poised and ready for the onslaught of ripping up, tearing down and blasting through old walls and floors to make way for the new Teen Services area. The construction noise level will increase during this period while the major renovation is taking place in the next few weeks. The fiction and non-fiction collections have been moved to their permanent locations, with additional lighting and shelving adjustments being made. Patrons may have to ask the reference librarians to retrieve some items until the collection areas are fully operational. Patrons are reminded that they may reserve items by calling the library at 762-3950 or using the library's Web site at www.wiltonlibrary.org and searching the catalog. Items on reserve may be picked up at the front desk or the drive-thru window. Patrons also are reminded that they may drop off materials at the drive-thru window or they may use the drop box in the parking lot which is accessed through the Godfrey Place entrance. Anyone wishing to donate gently-used books, CDs, videos, or DVDs may use the gray bin located at the original back entrance of the library on Godfrey Place. For information: 762-3950.

Snowy titles in Children's Services

With winter's fury having officially arrived, now is the time to cuddle up with the kids near a warm fire and read some of the new books that are perfect for the season. Titles include Really Good Snowman by Daniel Mahoney, Little Daughter of Snow by Arthur Ransome, Snow Friends by M. Christina Butler and Snowbaby Could Not Sleep by Kara Lareau. If people are craving the memories of a warm sun, blue skies and sandy beaches, they may feel free to ask the Children's Library assistants to find some summer books to remind them that warmer weather is just a few months away.

Short stories discussed in upcoming series
