Golf among the classics

Friday night the library's first annual Guys' Night Out tees off at 7:30 p.m. with Miniature Golf Among the Classics. During the outing, food sponsors Luca's Ristorante Italiano and Chez Lénard gourmet hot dog cart will provide the food. Additional sponsors include Village Market, Hersam Acorn Newspapers and Realty Seven as Silver sponsors. Wilton Family Eye Care through Irene Rosenberg, O.D., Kathy Leeds, Hal Higby, Charles P. Flynn, Esq., Ridgefield Bank, Regency Limousine and Creeth, Richman Associates are among the individual sponsors. Michael Crystal, Ph. Poetry explored

Oftentimes the subject of poetry conjures up uncertainty in people because they feel inadequate or unsure of how to read it and absorb it. This Sunday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m., CBS reporter Ira Joe Fisher will help demystify poetry by taking participants through his works and the works of others. Using his chapbook, Remembering Rew, Mr. Fisher will share his love of poetry, showing a different side of him than is seen on television. His book will be available for purchase and signing. This seminar was postponed from the infamous Blizzard '05 in January. There is no charge for the program. Advance registration is suggested. Call 762-3950 or register online.

Internet safety discussed

For most parents, the idea of their children sitting quietly in front of their computers rather than watching TV endlessly or running around with friends seems like a very good thing…but in the end, do parents really know what their children are being exposed to? Officer Scott Sear discusses "Internet Safety: Do You Know What's On Your Child's Computer?" for parents on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. In his seminar, Officer Sear discusses do's and don't's for parents that can help them establish safer online practices and environments for their children. There is no charge for the program. Advance registration is suggested. Call 762-3950 to register or log on to www.wiltonlibrary.org and click on Programs/Classes. This session was postponed due to an earlier snowstorm. Call 762-3950 or register online.
