Steps to better communications

The Library and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce co-sponsor a seminar tomorrow morning from 9-11 a.m. entitled "What Skill is More Important Than Communication?" Dr. Michael Crystal, an organizational psychologist who has presented many interpersonal skills programs for the Chamber and the library, will help attendees become more effective communicators through this engaging and interactive seminar. Advance registration is required. The fee for the seminar is $15 for Chamber members and Friends of the Library, $25 for non-Chamber members. Saturday is Fantasy day

Children in grades K-3 can enjoy the last Folklore and Fantasy session for this winter from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 25. Children will experience stories about dragons and giants, unicorns and trolls and other fanciful creatures in this introduction to fairy tales and folklore. There is no charge for the program. Tag sale profits

The library is presenting a program on Sunday, March 26 at 2 that may send people running into their basements and garages to see what kind of treasures they may own. Visiting author G. G. Carbone discusses how to get the most out of flea markets, tag sales, antique auctions and eBay and turn it into real money based on her book, How to Make a Fortune with Other People's Junk. The author shares her insights, strategies and skills on pricing things correctly from the owner's perspective and buying things right from the purchaser's perspective with profit being the main objective. With the annual Wilton Woman's Club Minks to Sinks giant tag sale right around the corner, the timing for this program is serendipitous. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Story of Wilton children aiding Katrina victims

On Sunday, March 26 at 2, local educator Barbara Schade, discusses her touching story of delivering more than 90 blankets made by Wilton children to the surviving children of Hurricane Katrina. Ms. Schade shares photos of the devastation and anecdotes of the children receiving the Wilton-made gifts. There is no charge for the program. To register, call 762-3950 or register online.

Spring Story Times begin

Women's Wellness Series begins

The first of a four-part Women's Wellness Series begins on Tuesday, March 28 with Are You Weight Loss Resistant? at 7 p.m. Licensed nutritionist Connie Marcy speaks about nutrition and how to counteract the phenomenon of being weight-loss resistant. The three additional topics are on consecutive Tuesday nights at 7 as follows: April 4 Meditation, Reiki and Self-Healing with spiritual leader Batya Diamond and energy healer Anna Raimondi; April 11 Aging & Menopause-Strategies for Fighting Them Naturally with the Blood Type Diet with Peter J.
