Two teens bands perform at this evening's Summer Music & More Concert Series at the library from 5-6:30 p.m. Studs on the Run plays rock with a reggae influence and Riding Shotgun is a jazz group. Band members for Studs on the Run are Geoff Albertson-drums, Mike Grippi-guitar and vocals, Alex Blair-guitar and lead vocals, and Nate Wolfson-bass guitar. Riding Shotgun members include Jake Walker-trombone, Nick DeSantis-trumpet, Dan Cole-alto sax, Chris Collins-clarinet/tenor sax/ Beep-Box-percussion, Andrew Shillinglaw-bass, Paul Quinn- vibes, Francis Dinoto-drums, and Keith Heyde-piano. The Summer Music & More concerts are sponsored by the Village Market. The concerts, food and refreshments are all free. In case of rain, the concerts will be moved indoors to the Brubeck Room. Movie day for kidsThe first of Reel Fridays takes place tomorrow, July 14 at 10:30 and 2 when the library shows free movies for kids on a large screen projection system. The 10:30 movie is Wiggles Splish Splash; the movie at 2 is Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Children under 5 must be accompanied by adults. Free popcorn and lemonade will be served. Additional Reel Fridays are July 21 with Doogal (10:30) and Chronicles of Narnia (2); August 4 Winnie the Pooh's Grand Adventure (10:30) and 8 Below (2); and August 11 Chicken Little (10:30) and Nanny McPhee (2). Drop-in craftsChildren can come to the library for crafts any time on Monday and Tuesday, July 17 and 18 for Drop-In Summer Crafts. The open time fits easily into kids' busy schedules and gives them a great opportunity to make fairy-themed crafts this week. The crafts are free and reservations are not needed. Trash-filled morning plannedChildren entering grades 2-6 get a Trip to the Garbage Museum in Stratford on Tuesday, July 18 from 9-noon. This educational trip to the museum is part of the summer reading program, Read, Recycle & Renew sponsored by the Betsy and Jesse Fink Foundation. Children learn about trash and where it goes once it leaves their homes. A special feature is the 24-foot long Trashosaurus. Kids can bring empty cereal boxes for part of the fun. The program cost is $5 per child for the transportation. The bus leaves promptly at 9 and returns at noon. Advance registration is required. As a follow-up program, kids can sign-up for the Garbage Walk in Wilton Center on Thursday, July 27 from 10:15-11:15. Library staffers will take kids on a walk in the center to help pick up trash. Story Times on WednesdayDrop-in Story Times take place on Wednesday, July 19 various times during the day for kids ages 1-8. Ones meet from 10:15-10:45; Twos from 11-11:30. Ones and Twos must be accompanied by adults. Threes and Fours meet from 1-1:30 and Fives through Eights gather from 2-2:45. Registration is not required and there is no charge for the programs. Internet auction tipsTom Greenbaum completes his 2-part series about mastering the Internet auction site, eBay, with his continuation of the seminar, Selling on eBay, on Wednesday, July 19 at 7.
