The Latin rock/salsa band Cosmic Jibaros brings a lively sound to the library's Summer Music & More Concert Series tonight from 5-6:30. Ricardo Reyes and his band promise a rousing good time with plenty of dance music for everyone. The summer concerts are sponsored by The Village Market and the wine is donated by Michael Crystal, founder of the Grand Crew Wine Club. The outdoor courtyard concerts are free, along with the refreshments. The last concert of the season is Thursday, July 26 with Mook, the Wilton High School alumni group comprised of Dan Kreiger, Paul Dano, Rob Bruce and Chris Johnson. A hoot of a timeTwo live owl programs, The Extraordinary Lives of Owls, take place at the library on Tuesday, July 24 when the Wind Over Wings group comes with special birds. Children up to age 6 have a program geared to them from 1-1:30. Kids entering first grade and older have a program designed especially for them from 2-3 p.m. Children will be introduced to an Eastern Screech Owl, Great-Horned Owl, Great Grey Owl and a Saw-Whet Owl. The program is interactive, humorous and gives children a lot of opportunities to ask questions. The owl program is made possible by The Betsy and Jesse Fink Foundation. There is no charge for the program. Registration begins ½ hour before each program. The first 150 people will attend each session. All children must be accompanied by caregivers. Fashionable T-shirtsTeens in grades 7-12 learn how to craft a new wardrobe from old T-shirts on Wednesday, July 25 in the program, Cut & Tie-Create Your Own T-Shirt, from 4-6 p.m. Kids learn creative cutting, tying, and fabric painting to form one's own style. Teens are encouraged to bring friends and take home uniquely created T-shirts. Materials are supplied free of charge by the library. The program is made possible by the Patricia and John Curran Teen Fund. There is no charge for the program. Advance registration is required. Crafty kidsWith the owl program on Tuesday, kids have a chance to do owl crafts on Thursday, July 26. A sample of the craft is available to make if kids want to drop-in at anytime during the day. There is no registration for the drop-in craft. From 4-5 p.m., Incredible Creature Crafts is for kids entering grades 4 and up with an intricate owl craft for them to construct. Stories for older kidsThis week's Take a Magic Carpet Ride to India from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday, July 26 is for kids entering grades 2-6. Drop-in Story TimesKids ages 1-6 have story times over the next four consecutive Tuesdays, July 24, 31, August 7 and 14. Ones and Twos with their caregivers meet from 10:15-10:45; Threes and Fours meet from 11:15-11:45; Fives and Sixes gather from 2-2:45.
