Author and forensic analyst Jerry Labriola, M.D. visits the library tonight at 7 to discuss his brand-new novel, The Strange Death of Napoleon Bonaparte. This is the Connecticut author's seventh book, several of which he co-authored with forensic scientist, Dr. Henry Lee. His latest writing is about an American historian and international treasure hunter named Paul D'Arneau who has been fired from his lofty university position, and is commissioned by the Parisian Gens de Vérité to determine if Napoleon was murdered. Dr. Labriola uses his real life expertise having examined noteworthy criminal cases such as O.J. Simpson, Scott Peterson, Lindbergh, and JonBenet Ramsey to name a few. Wilton Holiday WalkThe Wilton Holiday Walk takes place on Friday, Dec. 7 starting with the arrival of Santa Claus at the gazebo in the center green. Merchants around town and the library open their doors to welcome guests who are enjoying the evening's festivities. The library will have refreshments, a warm inviting fire, and shelter from the cold, winter night from 5-7. Everyone is invited to stop by and enjoy the goodies.
Scrooge pays a visitEbenezer Scrooge and other characters from Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" will be making special appearances at the library on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 2-3 p.m. during the Victorian-style celebration. Drop In Story TimesDrop-in Story Times continue on Monday, Dec. 10 for children ages 1-6. The Ones, Twos and Threes can stop by from 10:15-10:45 with caregivers for stories, finger plays, and songs. Fours, Fives and Sixes will have stories read to them from 2-2:45. On Thursday, Dec. 13, kids ages 3-6 can talk with Santa and listen to Mrs. Claus read stories from 6-6:30 p.m. All the programs are free of charge and no registration is required.
Divorce discussionOn Monday, Dec. 10, from 7-9 p.m., Maurice Segall, an attorney mediator, discusses the process of divorce in Connecticut Divorce Law 101. Topics ranging from the differences between mediation, collaboration and a "traditional" litigated divorce; physical and legal custody; and the importance of financial disclosure are just some of the discussion points.
