Greetings!
Thanks to all of you who have sent in your reservations for the Gala on Saturday, September 20th and who are looking forward to both the dinner dance/auction and the September Faire for families the following day. The former is filling up fast (more than half the seats have been reserved already), so please send in your ticket order soon - or call us at 762-3950 if you have misplaced your invitation.
We are so excited that the community - businesses, community organizations, foundations and individuals alike - is enthusiastically voicing its support for the new Wilton Library!
Expansion
News
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Ridgefield Bank, a longtime Friend of the Library, has
made an extremely generous $50,000 gift to the Library's Capital Campaign!
The Kiwanis Club of Wilton has pledged $25,000 to the Capital Campaign
- a truly spectacular gift that will have a long term impact on the
community. We are very grateful for this corporate and organization
support. As you may have read, we received a tremendous boost from
the State of CT in the form of a $500,000 construction grant last month.
Refinement of the architectural drawings has taken place over the last couple
of months, with changes based on input from several subcommittees of the Building
Committee and from members of the community at large. We have revised spaces
for better function and flexibility and will soon go to the "construction document" phase
of our work with Tai Soo Kim Partners, our wonderful architects.
The plans will be presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission at the end of their summer recess and we hope to break ground soon after their ruling. The first phase of construction, new parking lots, may have to wait until spring if the asphalt plants close before we get all our approvals in place.
enjoying the incredible artistic talent of your friends and neighbors,
