If the item you want is checked out to another patron, you can place a “hold” on the item and we will put you on a waiting list for it. When it’s your turn, we will notify you by phone that the item is available. You may also place a “hold” on checked-in items. We will retrieve the item and call you when it is ready to be picked up. You may pick up your items at the Circulation Desk or the Drive-Up Window.
Place a hold while you’re in the library. If you’re in the library, you can fill out one of the yellow cards in the baskets next to all the computers and hand it in at the reference desk. (You may also place a hold using the computers in the library.)
Place a hold by phone. If you prefer, you can phone the reference desk, and we will place the hold for you. If you choose to phone us, please have your library card handy as we will need your barcode number to place the hold.
Place a hold yourself online. You can place a hold on an item while you are using our online catalog. Find the item you want. Click on the “Request Item” button and enter your library card number (the 14 digits under the barcode on your card) and the last 4 digits of your phone number (your “PIN”).
