Wave Hill Breads Logo

Wave Hill Bread

196 Danbury Road, Wilton, Connecticut  06897    Tel. 203.762.9595

“We believe in the joy of bread.”

”We see it every day when customers stop by to pick up a loaf, looking forward to sharing it with their family that evening. We see it in the eyes of children sneaking up to the sampling basket at the farmers markets to snatch just one more little piece. We hear it in the words of older folks who tell us how our bread reminds them of their mothers’ big round loaves coming out of the oven decades ago. We want our bread, “the Wilton bread”, to continue to be, as so many of our customers put it, “the best bread I have ever had.”

We enjoy seeing Europeans smile when they taste WAVE HILL bread for the first time and say that it reminds them of the bread in their home country.  We like to hear words of appreciation from customers who enthusiastically thank us for making this bread.  Part of our mission is to help people, young and older, learn how bread is made.  We do hands-on lessons at community centers  and at the bakery for adults and children, starting at four years old. We describe how we make our bread and how to care for it on the back of each bread bag.”

NEW TO THE MARKET THIS YEAR!

Calcutta Kitchens Logo

Calcutta Kitchens

New to the market this year is Calcutta Kitchens, but already their sauces and chutneys are in demand.

Calcutta Kitchens wants to spread and share their life philosophy …

LIFFIL – Love is Food, Food is Love. So LIFFIL a little for now!

Their products:

  • BENGAL STYLE TOMATO CHUTNEY is slow-cooked with fresh tomatoes and assorted spices – a unique combination of sweet, tart and spicy flavors. It takes 3 lbs of tomatoes for a pound of chutney! A traditional palate refresher served at the end of the meal, this chutney is versatile enough to be used with cheese and crackers, meat or diluted as a glaze.  Or as we do in our house, eat by the spoonful just like that!
  • GREEN MANGO CHUTNEY, another Calcutta specialty, is made from raw green mangoes, which unlike the sweet mango is extremely tart. Combined with sugar and spices it has an explosive flavor. Try it on crackers, or with meat, or whatever way you like to have your chutney.
  • MAKHANI SIMMER SAUCE is a quick easy way to prepare a delicious meal. Add cooked/grilled chicken, pork, vegetables or raw shrimp and simmer for 5 min. Serve with rice or bread. Voila!
  • RED LENTIL, RICE, BULGUR & MINT SOUP A hearty soup, perfect with a piece of crusty bread, it warms you up instantly.
