The library is taking numerous precautions to allow for the health and safety of staff and patrons:
Changes you will notice are that meeting, conference, study rooms, study carrels and tables, the Reading Room, and the Innovation Station will remain closed for now, and patron seating has been removed. Although newspapers and print magazines are not available for reading in the library, print magazines can be reserved in the catalog and borrowed, and eMagazines can be downloaded through OverDrive with a Wilton Library card. Toys and games have been removed, and computers will not be available in the Children’s Library or Teen Services to ensure safety for all. Please understand that this is not the time for visiting with friends or studying in groups.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept book donations at this time. We were unable to have our April and September book sales due to COVID-19 and also have a significant backlog of donated books to process before we will have space for more.
We do not yet have a date on which we will begin accepting book donations. Our plans to bring in volunteers to process donations are based on state and local guidance and will be done in stages.
We continue to offer our drive-thru window service Mondays through Fridays, 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays, 10 am to 5 pm. Please wait to be notified via text, email or phone that your reserved items are available for pick up at the drive-thru. Reserve your items using our online catalog or call us at 203-762-6350.
Our digital library is available 24/7 with a Wilton Library card. We have many downloadable and streaming digital resources to keep you up-to-date and entertained. They're free and available anytime with a Wilton Library card. Discover eAudiobooks, eBooks, eMagazines; music, movies, TV shows; online learning; streaming jazz and classical music, online language-learning, online databases and more. Non-Wilton residents may check with their hometown libraries for these services.
If you are a Wilton resident and don’t have a Wilton Library card, you can stop by our circulation desk to get your card during your visit, or register for one online.
You will be given a temporary number that will allow you to request items in our catalog, but you will need to wait for the permanent number to access our digital collections. We will issue your card and email the permanent number to you. You may pick up your card at our drive thru window once you have been notified.
Yes, however resources are limited as not all libraries in or out of state are participating in InterLibrary Loans at present. We will take requests on a case-by-case basis, but it may take a few weeks for the books to arrive. Thanks for being patient.
Yes, in accordance with the state and local recommendations, all in-person programs will continue to be offered virtually.
