The library’s holiday book sale in the gallery is a seasonal delight. Bargains can be found – most of the items are new or like-new condition, making a terrific opportunity for holiday gift-giving. Items include books, unopened CDs and DVDs, children’s books and a huge assortment of art books. As items are sold, new ones appear daily, thanks to the hard-working book sale volunteers, who always seem to have an un-ending supply of tantalizing offerings. All sales support the library.
Sale opens at noon on Nov. 26 and continues during regular library hours through Dec. 23. Library closed Thursday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving.
Saturday, Dec. 21, 10 – noon.
Kids ages 8 and up are invited to join Wilton Library’s Minecraft Computer Club. A server for Fairfield County has been set up with a virtual world where the Minecraft community in Wilton can meet and the club welcomes the enthusiasts.
Please note: Minecraft is a subscription-based, online game. Players must bring their own laptop and create their own account. To be added to the Fairfield County server you must visit the Children’s Desk with a valid library card to be registered. Registration required.
Saturday, Dec. 21, 11 a.m. – noon.
What could be cuter than a child’s first picture with Santa? A picture taken with Santa Paws! Santa Paws is a trained therapy dog from ROAR (Ridgefield Operation Animal Rescue), who will be wearing a Santa costume and be accompanied by some of his canine elves. A wonderful opportunity for a holiday photo-op! Due to the nature of this program, it will start promptly at 11:00 a.m. and end at noon. Tickets will be given out 15 minutes before the program and the first 30 families will be guaranteed a spot. If time permits, it may be possible to accommodate other families. NOTE: In-person registration 15 minutes before the program begins.
In the spirit of the season, families are encouraged to bring a donated item for the shelter. Acceptable items include chew toys, cat and dog toys and collars.
