ESL (English as a Second Language) Registration & Testing

Registration and placement testing for ESL classes will take place at Wilton Library on Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Please note that the ESL class at Wilton Library is for the multi-level student. Class size is limited and will be determined by Placement Testing. Classes are open to Wilton, Westport and Weston residents. Class testing and registration will be conducted by Westport Continuing Education. Just walk in to take the test. Classes will be held twice-weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. starting on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Wilton Library.
Books for Babies
Wednesday, Jan. 8 through Wednesday, March 19, 10:15 – 10:45 a.m.
Bring your wonderful baby to this infant friendly program at the Wilton Library. We will sing and play and enjoy gentle stories geared for babies under 12 months old. This is an excellent forum to meet other new parents in the area. Caregivers must be present. The program runs for 11 weeks.
Wonderful Ones and Twos

This program is a sharing time for 1 and 2 year-olds and their caregivers. The emphasis is on books, with some songs and toy time. The program runs for 11 weeks.
Wednesday, Jan. 8, 15, 22 & 29, 4 – 5 p.m.
Kids in grades K and up are invited to join this weekly Lego® Club. Each session will be based on a new theme such as castles, vehicles, towers and more. Children will learn about the theme through stories and non-fiction books and then create a Lego® masterpiece from the library’s Lego® collection. There are 20 spots available for this program on a first come, first served basis each week. Tickets will be passed out at the Children’s reference desk starting at 3:45 p.m. the day of the program. Five Building Blocks of Growth for Your Small Business: Assessing Your Business: How Well Does It Run?
Wednesday, Jan. 22, 6 – 8 p.m.
This workshop is the first in a series of five sessions designed to help you analyze and grow your small business. This session will cover an assessment of tools that scores how well your business operates and provides an analysis of what you can do to improve business performance. You will learn: how the assessment tool works; comparison of other businesses that have used the tool; how to apply the tool to your business, how SCORE can help you utilize the tool. Speaker: John Harmon, Managing Director of Adulant Consulting Services which advises small and medium-size businesses on strategies for growth and operating excellence. He also serves as a SCORE counselor. Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. Co-sponsored by Fairfield County SCORE, Wilton Library and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce.
