AARP Driver Safety Class

Wednesday, May 14, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The AARP Driver Safety Program is designed especially for drivers age 50 and older. This single session, four hour course covers the normal changes in vision, hearing and reaction time associated with ageing and provides practical techniques on how to adjust to these changes, along with learning to operate vehicles more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment.  No written or driving tests; classroom only.  NY residents: please contact your insurance carrier to confirm they will accept a Connecticut State class certificate. Registration required. Program cost: $15 for AARP members; $20 for non-members.  Bring check or cash only.

Books for Babies

Wednesday, April 9 through Wednesday, June 11, 10:15 – 10:45 a.m.
Bring your wonderful baby to this infant friendly program at the Wilton Library. We will sing and play and enjoy gentle stories geared for babies under 12 months old.  This is an excellent forum to meet other new parents in the area. No story time during the week of April 14.   Caregivers must be present.

Wonderful Ones and Twos

Wednesday, April 9 through Wednesday, June 11, 11 – 11:30 a.m.
This program is a sharing time for 1 and 2 year-olds and their caregivers. The emphasis is on books, with some songs and toy time. No story time during the week of April 14.

Wilton Library Readers

Wednesday, May 14, Noon – 1:30 p.m.
Professional book discussion leader Susan Boyar discusses Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Group meets second Wednesday of each month.  Bring lunch; beverages will be provided. Pokemon Game and Swap

Wednesday, May 7, 14, 21 & 28, 4 – 5 p.m.
Do you love Pokemon? Do you collect the cards and swap them with friends? Are you a master at playing the game? Do you know every one of the 718 Pokemon characters from Pikachu to Squirtle? Then the Pokemon Game and Swap program at the Wilton Library is for you!  Once a week in May come and play and swap with other Pokemon fans. Grades 2 and up, caretakers must remain in the building.

Grab Bag Book Club

Wednesday, May 14, 4 – 4:45 p.m.
Come and discuss a brand new bestselling children’s book! The book for May will be The Ninja Librarians: The Accidental Keyhand by Jen Swann Downey. This is a time travelling story about your average sword-swinging, karate-chopping, crime-fighting Ninja Librarians. Healthy snacks will be provided as well as a book-related activity.  Registration required.  Grades 3 and up.  Parents and guardians must be in the building. Sponsored by the Steve and Alison Sherman Family Fund.

SCORE’s Simple Steps for Starting Your Business is designed to avoid start-up pitfalls and put you on the road to success. The series continues with May 14:  Financial Planning & Reporting; May 21:  Funding Sources/Conversations with Entrepreneurs.  Check-in begins at 5:30pm.
