Welcome to Wilton Library

The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation’s first and largest classroom driver safety course designed especially for drivers age 50 and older. This single session, four hour course covers the normal changes in vision, hearing and reaction time associated with ageing and provides practical techniques on how to adjust to these changes, along with learning to operate vehicles more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. There are no written or driving tests – classroom only. NY residents: please contact your insurance carrier to confirm they will accept a Connecticut State class certificate. Registration required. Program cost by cash or check only: $15 for AARP members; $20 for non-members.

Bring your wonderful baby to this infant friendly program at the Wilton Library. We will sing and play and enjoy gentle stories geared for babies under 12 months old. This is an excellent forum to meet other new parents in the area. No registration, no fee. Caregivers must be present.

This program is a sharing time for 1 and 2 year-olds and their caregivers. The emphasis is on books, with some songs and toy time. No registration, no program fee.

Professional book discussion leader Susan Boyar discusses My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante this month. Group meets second Wednesday of each month (no meeting in December). Bring lunch; beverages will be provided. For a complete listing of meetings and titles, visit our Wilton Readers page. Advance registration suggested.

BYOD - Bring your own device and follow along as Melissa Baker demonstrates free downloadable and streaming music.  You will learn about our streaming classical music (Naxos Music Library), and downloadable popular music (Hoopla Digital), all available 24/7 from Wilton Library.  There is something for everyone and hours of enjoyment for patrons with Wilton Library cards.  Presented by Wilton Library for seniors at the Senior Center, Comstock Community Center, 180 School Road, Wilton. Registration is strongly suggested.

Wilton Library’s executive director Elaine Tai-Lauria receives a generous donation of $1,200 from Mitch Ancona, of Ancona’s Wines & Liquors of Wilton and Ridgefield, who recently hosted the First Annual Branchville Charity Bocce Tournament.  Holding the trophy is Michael Crystal (husband of Janet Crystal, marketing communications manager for the library). He headed up the first place team, Wilton Library Bocce Brawlers, which included Jon Waxberg (husband of Anita Waxberg, processing and circulation assistant for the library), Justin Bartholomew and Jeff Hancock (both employees of Ancona’s).  There were eight nonprofit teams that competed in the round-robin tournament.
