Teen Summer Reading

Friday, June 20 through Friday, August 15th
The Teen Summer Reading Program is underway now, and ends on Friday August 15th.  Weekly, teens entering grades 6-12 can access EVANCED, the online program to record the number of pages read.  There will be a weekly drawing for $10 gift certificates. The end-of-summer grand prize will be a $100 AmEx Gift Card.  For more details, stop by Teen Services or call 203-762-3950, ext. 243.

Camp Half-Blood Fun-raiser

Thursday, Aug. 7, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. POSTPONED.  New Date TBA.
This summer a mysterious glowing symbol will appear above your head that will confirm what you’ve always secretly known – you are the child of a Greek god. Join other half-bloods at the Wilton library for a summer camp like no other! Based on the acclaimed children’s series Percy Jackson and the Olympians written by Rick Riordan, this day camp will include all the training a growing half-blood needs to survive ancient Greek monsters in our modern world. You’ll be claimed by a Greek god, solve a prophecy foretold by the Oracle of Delphi, make your way through the Labyrinth, and much more!   This program is a fundraiser for the Children’s Library. Registration in person. Payment must be made at time of registration. $55.00 per child. For children going into Grades 3 thru 6.

Summer StoryBook Ballet

Fridays, June 13, 20 & 27, 10:15-11 a.m.

StoryBook Ballet is the Signature class at Fleur de Lis Academy. Every dancer is made to feel like a princess or prince as they learn classical ballet concepts with uninhibited creative dance. Each class incorporates storybooks, thematic costumes and special props. Dance games, interactive songs, and coordinated music inspire the dancers in this fanciful ballet class. Classes will be taught by the Director of Fleur de Lis Academy. Girls and boys ages 3-6. Caregiver in the building. Registration required for each individual session.  Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.

Fairy Doll Workshop

Friday, June 27, 3 – 4:30 p.m.
Children ages 5 and up are invited to stop by the Children’s Library to make a Fairy Doll.  Mrs. Keogh will be available to show kids how to create their own unique fairy out of a variety of craft materials.  Parental guidance is suggested. Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.
