Camp Half-Blood Fun-raiser
Thursday, Aug. 7, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. POSTPONED. New Date TBA.
This summer a mysterious glowing symbol will appear above your head that will confirm what you’ve always secretly known – you are the child of a Greek god. Join other half-bloods at the Wilton library for a summer camp like no other! Based on the acclaimed children’s series Percy Jackson and the Olympians written by Rick Riordan, this day camp will include all the training a growing half-blood needs to survive ancient Greek monsters in our modern world. You’ll be claimed by a Greek god, solve a prophecy foretold by the Oracle of Delphi, make your way through the Labyrinth, and much more! This program is a fundraiser for the Children’s Library. Registration in person. Payment must be made at time of registration. $55.00 per child. For children going into Grades 3 thru 6.
Geocaching for Teens
Wednesday, July 2, 4 – 6 p.m.
Join us on an outdoor hike and ‘treasure hunt.’ Did you know that you can find geocaches all over the world? Geocaches are hidden in: the Great Wall of China, railway tunnels in Columbia, the Adirondack & Catskill Mountains, and right here in Wilton! We’ll navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then search for the geocache (container) hidden at that location. We’ll also make a geocache to place. Bring your smartphone or share with another. You may also bring a little trinket from your house (something interesting, but of no value) to place in the geocache we hide. Wearing long pants is a good idea. Meet in the teen room before heading out. For teens entering 6th – 12th grade. Registration suggested. Rain date: July 16th.
