Day Trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art: The American Wing

Join us for a trip to see the Painting Galleries at the New American Wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This trip is planned as a follow-up to the Adair Burlingham Memorial Lecture by Joan Macy Kaskell on September 12th. Trip includes a one-hour guided tour of the newly expanded painting galleries. Featuring 26 rooms, the new floor devoted to American art features works by John Singer Sargent, Frederic Edwin Church, Winslow Homer and Frederic Remington among others. A three-part renovation of the American Wing began 10 years ago and with its completion the museum has spent $100 million. The cost of the trip is $62 per person ($55 for seniors) and includes museum admission, a one-hour guided tour and round trip bus transportation (lunch is not included).The bus will leave the library promptly at 9:30 a.m. and will return by approximately 4:30 p.m. Payment with registration must be complete by Thursday, September 13th.
