Wilton Library is hiring a part-time Tech Help Coordinator to provide community members with technology support and help navigate digital challenges.
The coordinator will offer both drop-in assistance and scheduled appointments to help community members with their technology needs. In addition to providing direct support, the coordinator will collaborate with library staff and community volunteers to schedule and coordinate appointment-based extended assistance.
Community members may need support with a wide range of tasks including smartphone and tablet setup, email account creation and management, or navigating online applications for jobs, benefits, and services. The coordinator might also help with basic computer skills, internet navigation, or digital document management.
Essential Qualities We're looking for someone who demonstrates patience and empathy when working with people of varying tech skill levels and backgrounds, along with strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly. The successful candidate will take a creative problem-solving approach to technology challenges, and have a collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for working alongside library staff and volunteers.
Required Skills and Experience The ideal candidate should have familiarity with modern web browsers, operating systems, and common applications, along with the ability to quickly learn new interfaces and troubleshoot unfamiliar technology. A basic understanding of smartphones, tablets, and computer systems is essential, with comfort in both Windows and Mac environments preferred.
This position is grant-funded for a minimum of three years. This is an in-person, part-time hourly position approximately 15 hours/week which may include evenings and weekends. Salary is $25.00 per hour.

Wilton Library seeks a Part-Time Technology Assistant to join our Technology team. Job responsibilities include audio/visual equipment setup for meetings, programs, and rentals, with occasional helpdesk functions for staff and patrons or support for library hardware/software. Performs other duties as assigned under the direction of the Technology Manager. Qualifications: Holds a high school diploma. Familiar with common operating systems and software as well as online services. Ability to quickly learn and troubleshoot software systems and maintain good customer service demeanor in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to interact with staff, volunteers, and patrons. Experience with audiovisual equipment and livestreaming a plus. Must be able to lift up to approximately 35 pounds and push carts weighing approximately 100 pounds. Part-time hourly position 10-15 hours/week including evenings. Flexibility to cover additional hours including weekends as necessary. $18.50 per hour.
